Divya Spandana, who was popularly known as ‘Kuthu’ Ramya in Tamil cinema, has donated her eyes to a Bangalore-based eye hospital.The actress signed a form expressing willingness to donate eyes at her birthday function held recently. She has also urged her fans to follow the suit and to create a world where there are no visually impaired.

Divya, a popular actress in Kannada, entered Tamil films as Ramya with Silambarasan starrer ‘Kuthu’. This made fans and peers to call her ‘Kuthu’ Ramya.The actress however made her original name Divya Spandana official after some time. She was last seen in ‘Varanam Aayiram’ opposite Suriya, directed by Goutham Menon.

Golden girl Ramya (Divya Spandana) has joined the club of celebrities, who are coming up for a noble cause, by donating her eyes to a Bangalore-based eye hospital. The Bubbly girl of Sandalwood celebrated her 28th Birthday at Taj West End on Sunday. Along with fans and Facebook friends, she pledged to donate her eyes to the Narayana Nethralaya to mark her 28th Birthday.

The Sandalwood actress started her day on November 29 with her customary visit to the temple. Later, she had planned a luncheon for fans and friends, who she had selected from the social networking site Facebook. Dr. Bhujanga Shetty of Narayana Nethralaya, who was present on the occasion, praised Ramya and her fans. Director Guru Dutt, Roopa Aiyar and prominent members of the cine fraternity had graced the occasion.

Ramya said that she wanted to meet each and every of her Facebook friend because they would be her real supporters, who would give her strength. On the occasion, she also gave hints about her political plans. The controversial queen, who does not have a single release for quite some time, would not like to do back-to-back films. She would not like to do films just to be seen.

However, the Kannada actress has got handful of projects. Presently, she is busy with the movies like Sanju Weds Geetha, Just Maath Maathalli, Hucha Kicha and Naanu Nanna Kanasu. She is also eagerly waiting for the release of Bhimoos Bang Bang Kids and Jothegara, which are long pending movies.
